This past Saturday was a big success for Bellairs Fibers. Allison, Samantha and I spent the day at the Waterloo Farm Museum in Munith/Grass Lake. Not only is the Farm Museum fascinating and fun but always filled with people willing to teach how things were done in the past.
Allison and Samantha manned our sale booth along with a other booths from the Spinners Flock (a group of like minded people that spin wool into yarns, knit, crochet and weave. Our offerings included crocheted critters always a hit with the littles crowd, a new item *Microwave yarn dying kit, handspun yarns, handmade hats, Artisan Goat Milk Soap, Crocheted Cactus garden and miscellaneous small items.
while they were busy with the guests, I spent the day in the farmhouse sitting room with my spinning wheel creating yarn and demonstrating how it is done. Finished about 8 ounces of wool roving while I was there. My Service Dog Checkers is always faithfully by my side. I am thankful to my girls for taking care of the business end so that I can retreat into my happy place of just spinning quietly in the corner almost like an ornament for the museum.
Our next show will be the brand new Artisan Market held at the Waterloo Township Hall. We will be inside the hall with all of our fiber goodness. I will also be spinning while there so come out and see us on Saturday June 24.
