We went to Washtenaw County 4-H fair this year and won Grand and Reserve Champion breeding sheep. Grand Champion Dairy Goat and Best of Breed Giant Angora Rabbit. We are happy about the winnings and will be showing there again next year.

We also exhibited still projects at the Chelsea Fair. We had very good results. Sheri Bellairs won Best in show with her slipper socks and with her handspun two ply yarn. She also won 1st place with her market bag, white great Pyrenees dog hair yarn, and  Romney wool and dyed mohair two ply yarn. She also won 2nd place on her 3 ply Romney wool yarn and her frosted donut scarf. Allison Bellairs won 1st place with her llama in the storm picture and her Silver Romney fleece. She won 7th place with her alpaca fleece.

Yesterday we went to get more sheep. We got four new sheep. We bought three ewes and one ram. They are CVM/Romedales that are registered. One ewe is 2 years old and is a morit badger. The second adult ewe is 2 years old and is a grey badger. The last ewe is a lamb she was born in May. She is all white. The last one is a ram lamb born in May. He is a solid dark brown. Their wool is nice and soft. We can't wait to spin their wool this spring.

A little about us and the farm

Hi, I am Allison Bellairs. I am the middle daughter of Mike and Sheri Bellairs. I am one of the owners of Bellairs Fiber Farm. We have a different setup than most people we have all our large animals like goats, sheep, and alpacas over at our friends John and Rochelle Sturtevant. They have been super helpful. We have put up fences and shelter for the animals and worked out any problems that we have had with keeping the animals in. They have been super helpful and have gotten alpacas and goats themselves. We are an example of a kid that really wanted goats and didn't have a place to put them. Then found a place that I could keep them and convinced dad to let her have the animals. We have the rabbits and dogs at our house. We run the business at our house and all our profits go to caring for the animals. We will keep you updated on the new events that will be going on and any updates on places we will be going.
